The Manaus-Tabatinga river route covers the Solimões River for about 1,100 km, passing through Coari, Tefé, Jutaí and other riverside communities. It's one of the Amazon's most fascinating journeys, arriving at the Brazil-Colombia-Peru Triple Border. Bitácora coordinates tickets on scheduled boats (more economical) and speedboats.
Vessel type
Barcos de linha e lanchas rápidas
Estimated duration
2 days by boat
Scheduled boats depart 2-3 times/week, take 4-5 days in hammock or cabin, and are more economical (R$200-450). Speedboats take 36-48h, are more expensive (R$400-700) and have less baggage space.
Tabatinga is at the Triple Border: across the river is Leticia (Colombia) and nearby is Santa Rosa (Peru). You can cross to Colombia without a visa. Excellent for jungle tourism and indigenous culture.
To stay in Tabatinga, only RG or passport. To cross to Leticia (Colombia), a passport is required for Brazilians. Bitácora guides you on all necessary documentation.
Scheduled boats have more luggage space and allow larger volumes. Speedboats have limitations. Ask us about specific rules for each vessel.
